Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral?

Physiotherapists are primary healthcare practitioners meaning you can book yourself in privately without a referral. To claim the costs under Medicare, Workcover or insurers other than Private health insurance a referral from your GP will be required

‍

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Prior to your appointment, please send any relevant documentation including referrals, workcover medical certificates / claim numbers, case managers details or imaging reports/scans, via email to our admin desk.

‍

What funding and payment options do you accept?

We work with a range of funding and payment options, including Medicare, private health insurance, DVA, WorkCover Queensland, NDIS (self-managed and plan-managed), and MAIC CTP insurance. For WorkCover claims, we need up-to-date referrals, claim numbers and medical certificates, and we're only able to accept Queensland WorkCover claims. If you're unsure whether your situation is covered, get in touch and we can talk you through it.

‍

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We ask for 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late cancellation fee, this ensures that people in need aren’t turned away unnecessarily.

‍

What should I wear for my appointment?

Wear something comfortable and easy to remove for the physiotherapist to see and touch the skin of the affected region e.g. shorts for a knee injury. Often a buttoned shirt is easier to put on/remove than a tee shirt for shoulder injuries.
